Welcome from the Good Samaritan School Registration Team. Good Sam
enrolls students in preschool through 4th grade, with
5th grade beginning in September 2011. Offering a close-knit
learning community where students are valued, supported and inspired to
excel, we present a broad-based, challenging curriculum enhanced by a
wide variety of activities in physical education, music, art, and
community service.
Good Samaritan School seeks
students who are passionate about learning and will find success
beginning with our nationally accredited (NAEYC) early childhood
program through our current third grade year of studies.
We value diversity and look to enhance our school with different
perspectives and experiences. Good Sam welcomes applicants of all ethnic,
religious, and racial origin in compliance with law and does not
discriminate in any of its practices. Good Samaritan is a member of the
National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES). The best way to
understand the value of a Good Sam education is to visit our school
while we are in session. Please contact the school for a visit.
We look forward to sharing the Good Sam experience with you and
your family.

An Open Invitation
The best way to understand the value of a Good Sam education is to see
our students and teachers engaged in learning. We will visit classes in
session, meet teachers and administrators throughout our tour. Please
call for an appointment to visit our wonderful school. Children are
always welcome to join their parents.
Weekly tours are conducted in early spring of the year your child will
enter in September. Children enroll in our program all year long if space
is available. Individual tours by appointment are arranged at the
parent’s and school Head’s convenience throughout the academic
year.

The Board of Trustees sets the tuition annually at a level that will
enable the school to provide an education of the highest quality. Fees
include most classroom art supplies, field trip costs, and the Scholastic
News magazines. Special field trips or events may require additional
fees. Individual classroom fundraisers may contribute to extra costs.

Good Samaritan School believes that an independent school education
should be available to all students who met the mission of our school.
The purpose of our financial aid program is to provide the education
opportunity of the school to students from diverse socio-economic
backgrounds. We do not want any family to assume that a Good Sam
education is not available due to cost and affordability.
Policies and Procedures
-
Contact the school office to request a copy of our financial aid application. These forms will require you to submit proof of all income sources (W-2’s and wage receipts) directly to Good Samaritan School. All materials are confidential.
-
Financial aid is awarded based upon an analysis of demonstrated need and the ability to pay. The calculation is based upon the following:
-- Income of both parents
-- Income Eligibility Guidelines
-- Number of dependents
-- Number of children in tuition charging schools
-- Special situations and appeals
-
Financial aid grants only become final after the Financial Aid Committee has reviewed the family’s current federal tax forms, W-2’s and all supporting schedules.
-
A financial aid grant is renewable each year a student remains at GSS. Each family is required to provide the Financial Aid Committee with the updated financial information. Provided the family’s financial situation does not change and the student remains in good financial and academic standing with the school, the grant will be renewed. Financial Aid applications must be received by May 30th, 2010. If applications are received after May 30th, 2010, the grant will only be possible as financial aid funds are available.
-
It is possible the GSS will admit more applicants whose families qualify for need-based aid than we can support within our limited financial aid budget. In such a case, the Financial Aid Committee will make decisions based on factors such as individual merit and space availability.
